Jessica Estrada
MSW, LGSW
Hello! I’m Jessica (I also go by Jay)! I’m a mental health therapist who believes in the power of resilience, laughter, and a good cup of coffee. With a unique blend of military experience and life adventures, I bring a dynamic perspective to the world of mental health.
Proudly serving in the Army as a combat veteran, I learned invaluable lessons about resilience, teamwork, and the strength that comes from overcoming challenges. These experiences instilled in me a deep understanding of mental fortitude and camaraderie, which now shape my approach to therapy. After my time in the military, I transitioned into the field of mental health, driven by a passion for helping others navigate life’s complexities.
I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from St. Cloud State University and completed my MSW internship working with at-risk youth in a residential treatment setting. Over the next five years, I focused on supporting youth ages 24 and under who were experiencing homelessness, trafficking, exploitation, or foster care involvement. I’ve also worked with patients of all ages as an LSW on a hospital care management team, providing resources and support for successful discharges. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate of Social Work degree at Capella University to continue expanding my expertise.
In therapy, I blend professionalism with a sprinkle of fun—because who says healing can’t include a little joy? My diverse life experiences have given me unique insights into human emotions, and I strive to create a welcoming space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find me spending time with my children, friends, and family. I believe that life is a journey filled with lessons, laughter, and endless opportunities for growth.
